Timor Sulphur Crested Cockatoo - Parvula
(Cacatua Sulphurea parvula)
|
The photograph below was taken in 2004 on Roti island, off West Timor. This is a TRUE TIMOR SULPHUR CRESTED COCKATOO (Parvula). Many breeders and even conservation organisations claim to have in their 'collection' true sub species such as 'Timor or 'Parvula' or even 'Abbotts sulphur crested (c s abbott'i) however it is also a fact that so many people do not even know what the sub species they claim to have in fact are supposed to look like i.e. size, feather colour, origin. Unfortunately in captivity the Lesser Sulphur Crested or Yellow Crested Cockatoo has been hybridised to such an extent, that hardly any true sub species remain. This photograph is copyrighted and may not be copied. |
