Bush Tucker

The Australian bush is where many cockatoos originate from, cockatoos are found in Australasia (Australia and Asia).

Having spent many, many years buying different brands of parot food, and not being totally happy with any of them.

Through either poor quality ingredients i.e. old seed, or just poor ingredients i.e. not enough variation and too much striped sunflower, or just plain and simply all round poor quality i.e. dusty and dirty.

If you have never done this, pick up a handful of your bird's seed mix in your hand and then put it back in the bag - is your hand clean? Or is it dirty and dusty?

If it is the latter which happens all too often, then you need to change your paroot food.

All this dust and dirt goes into your birds insides.

Dusty seed can cause aspergillosis.

This can have devastating effect leading to death if not caught in time.

This can be avoided!

So with all the above in mind we decided to create our own parrot food, special cockatoo mix.

We do have a specific mix for macaws and other parrots on the way.

As we have kept cockatoos for longer than I care to remember it seemed the obvious choice of parrot mix to create first..

Our bush tucker grub cockatoo mix contains over 30 ingredients some of which are:

Carrot, Peas, Banana Chips, Pineapple, Flaked Maize, Oats, Raisins, Pineapple, Papaya, Rosehips, Juniper Berries, Coconut, Pumpkin Seeds, Mango, White Sunflower, Buckwheat, Safflower, Wheat, Paddy Rice, White Dari, Groats, Hemp, Jumbo Cedar Nuts, Sultanas, Dried Shrimps, Hulled Sunflower, Green Beans, Red Pepper and more....

Our mix is created from many years research on the dietary requirements of cockatoos, both in the wild and in captivity.
