About Us
|
Welcome to our site. The information provided on our site is gathered from our own experiences - not picked and copied from reference books (or other sites). It is however factual! We tell it like it is, no frills and no bills. We are not a commercial outlet and we do not sell hand reared babies. |
We won't inform you that the Blue Eyed Cockatoo is very rare in captivity (and in the wild), then continue to tell you that they are possibly good pet potential..... Keeping birds is not something you should dive into feet first, no matter how lovely they look and how tempted you are. It takes total commitment, 365 days a year, ( yes Christmas day also). Good and bad. For us it has been a learning process and still is. |

We are fortunate in that over the years we have been able to keep and breed many beautiful birds. Starting initially with canaries and cockatiels. Both of which should never be underestimated. One of our first baby canaries pictured right. (Photo taken in 1989).

Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and Red Sided Eclectus youngsters pictured right. Bred by us in 1992. (Photo taken in 1992). The Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoo by the way originates from Indonesia - (not Australia nor Singapore) as some pet sites incorrectly state |
Then various other various parakeets such as: Pennants Rosellas, Splendids, Bourkes, Maroon Bellied and Sun Conures, Senegal Parrots. Progressing onto larger parrots such as African Greys, Eclectus, Cockatoos, Amazons and Macaws. We have also kept and bred both the Duivenbode and Black Cap Lory.

Although we are not a registered charity over the years we have been asked to take many unwanted parrots, mainly cockatoos. Sometimes ex pets and sometimes unwanted ex breeding birds. We do keep every bird which ends up here and none are passed on. This does incur a lot of expense to house and care for them correctly. Therefore we decided to open an on-line shop. All profits from our shop go to caring for the sadly ever expanding number of unwanted birds, we are regularly asked to take in.
Photo left female Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, were unwanted pet (now greatly loved). |
