The following photo is a 2005 bred, parent reared youngster from our pair of originally wild caught, yellow crested cockatoos (lesser sulphur crested), Cacatua Sulphurea sulphurea. Sub species C s sulphurea.

The adults are over 25 years old and spent 20 years with their original keepers in a non aviary environment following importation to the UK. This is their first chick, produced after a few years of trying. A little feather plucked but other wise healthy.

This photo was taken only a couple of hours after the chick came out of the nest box for the first time, aged 10 weeks and 4 days. Note the pink beak.
